A lightweight fight between Bobby Green and Jared Gordon has been announced for UFC Fight Night 223 on April 22nd at a location still to be confirmed.
The 36-year-old Green’s 2022 campaign started off promisingly enough with a unanimous decision win over Nasrat Haqparast in early February, but an ill-fated decision to acccept a short-notice fight against Islam Makhachev just a couple of weeks later resulted in a first round TKO loss.
That was then followed by a KO loss to Drew Dober in December that’s put Green in a challenging position as he heads into the 15th year of his professional career in the sport.
Meanwhile the 34-year-old Gordon also emerged with a win and two losses last year, starting with a submission loss to Grant Dawson.
Gordon then picked up a unanimous decision victory over Leonardo Santos, but he then suffered a somewhat controversial decision loss to Paddy Pimblett in December that many people had scored in his favor.
Green vs. Gordon will join a UFC Fight Night 223 card that doesn’t yet have a main event established, but does have a few other bouts currently attached to it, including Song Yadong vs. Ricky Simon and Karol Rosa vs. Norma Dumont.
