A featherweight fight between Brian Ortega and ‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung will headline UFC Fight Night 165 in South Korea on December 21st.
This will be Ortega’s first fight back in the Octagon since an unsuccessful attempt to win the 145lb title from Max Holloway back in December of last year.
Ortega had been unbeaten in his 15-fight career up until that point, but suffered a bad beating against ‘Blessed’ that led to a doctor’s stoppage in the fourth round, and so perhaps it’s for the best that the 28-year-old has had a long layoff prior to his next fight.
As for The Korean Zombie, he got back to winning ways last time out in some style with a 58 second TKO victory over Renato Moicano.
Prior to that he had been in an instant classic fight with Yair Rodriguez at the tail-end of last year that saw him being knocked out by an upward elbow just a single second away from the end of the five-round fight.
Ortega vs. The Korean Zombie will front only the second UFC show ever in South Korea and the first to be headlined by the nations own major homegrown star, which the UFC will be hoping helps generate more interest than ever before in the region.
