Brock Lesnar And Jon Jones Indicate Interest In Superfight

Returning UFC star Jon Jones had indicated that he’d be willing to take a superfight with former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, and it seems that the WWE giant’s interest has also been peaked by that money-spinning match-up.

“I would love to fight Brock Lesnar,” Jones told fans during a recent Facebook Live chat. “He’s a massive dude, it would be a massive draw, really big for the sport. It would be a great challenge.”

It wasn’t long before Lesnar responded to that suggestion, while also cautioning Jones that he had other fish to fry first.

“Would I fight Jon Jones? Anytime, anywhere,” Lesnar informed the Associated Press. “Right now he should be worried about D.C. on Saturday night.”

That’s sensible advice as though Jones holds a previous unanimous decision victory over Daniel Cormier, he has fought once in the past two and a half years since then due to his antics outside of the Octagon.

During that same time frame, Cormier has racked up wins over the likes of Anthony Johnson (twice), Alexander Gustafsson and Anderson Silva, and he’ll now be more determined than ever to defeat his biggest rival.

Nevertheless, the prospect of Jones moving up to heavyweight has always been intriguing, and going up against Lesnar for his debut in the weight class would be a fight everyone would want to see.

THere has been rumors recently that Lesnar could be eyeing a potential return to the Octagon, though talk that he’d already re-joined USADA’s drug-testing pool has proven not to the be true so far, and if he did do so he would still have to serve out the remaining five months of his current suspension before he could compete again.
