One of Cage Warriors biggest ever stars Paddy Pimblett has signed for the UFC.

Cage Warriors is of course where Conor McGregor first became a double champion before being signed by the UFC, and the The 26-year-old Pimblett has been fighting there for practically his entire career.

Along the way he has compiled a 16-3 record and held their featherweight title, and his performances and personality have long had him tipped as a future UFC fighter.

“He has been our poster boy for years but now it’s his time to go to the UFC and show them what he can do, and I, with the rest of the Cage Warriors team, wish him the best of luck,” Cage Warriors president Graham Boylan said in a statement.

Pimblett, who these days fights at lightweight, is coming off two swift back-to-back victories, having TKO’d Decky Dalton in less than three minutes back in March of last year before the pandemic shutdown, and then submitted Davide Martinez precisely a year later in 97 seconds.

“I don’t want to rob (Conor) McGregor’s saying…But we are…we are coming to take over,” Pimblett, who hails from Liverpool, England, told BT Sport. “The Scouse are going to land in a big way.”
