Carlos Condit Vs Neil Magny Set For UFC 219

Welterweight star Carlos Condit will return to action against Neil Magny at UFC 219 in Las Vegas on December 30th.

Condit had indicated he was considering retirement last year after back-to-back losses against Robbie Lawler and Demian Maia, but after taking over a year out he recently indicated he was looking to return, and it’s not taken long for the UFC to find a fight for the popular star.

Looking back, it’s actually been a rough ride for ‘The Natural Born Kiler’ for the past five years as he’s only picked up two wins in seven Octagon outings during that period, though his opposition has consistantly being at the highest level, which is why he still holds the No.6 spot in the divisional rankings.

The No.10 ranked Magny is another challenging opponent, holding a 12-5 record in the Octagon in a little over four years.

However, after a spell that saw him lose just once in 11 fights, Magny has now lost two of his last three fights, with a win over Johny Hendricks being sandwiched inbetween first-round defeats against both Lorenz Larkin and Rafael dos Anjos.

Condit Vs Magny joins a UFC 219 card that’s yet to establish a main and co-main event pairing, though other fights so far made official for the line-up include Dominick Cruz Vs Jimmie Rivera and Cynthia Calvillo Vs Carla Esparza.
