Undefeated flyweight fighter Casey O’Neill will return to action against Jennifer Maia at UFC 286 in London, England on March 18th.
The Scottish-born O’Neill’s record currently stands at a perfect 9-0, including four victories in a row since joining the UFC back in early 2021.
Along the way the 25-year-old has defeated Shana Dobson by TKO, Lara Procopio by submission, Antonina Shevchenko via TKO and most recently earned a split decision victory over Roxanne Modafferi in February of last year.
However, though the No.11 ranked O’Neill was then scheduled to face Jessica Eye in July, she was forced out of that fight after suffering a torn ACL and had to undergo surgery.
Now she’ll try to pick up where she left off against the 34-year-old Brazilian Maia, who is coming off a decision win against Maryna Moroz, but had lost two in a row prior to that against Katlyn Chookagian and Manon Fiorot, leaving her ranked No.8.
O’Neill vs. Maia adds to a UFC 286 event that is rumored to be headlined by a welterweight title fight trilogy fight between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman, though it’s yet to be officially announced, while Marvin Vettori vs. Roman Dolidze and Lerone Murphy vs. Nathaniel Wood have also been booked for the UK show.
