Charles Oliveira earned another victory over Nik Lentz tonight at UFC Fight Night 152, this time by way of TKO in the second round.
Round One:
Both throw a leg kick at the same time. Lentz with a leg kick and then a front kick to the body. Oliveira throws a strike and then clinches up, but Lentz sepearates.
Kick for Lentz. Now a right hook from him. Oliveira with a flying kick attempt. Short punches in close from Lentz.
leg kick for Oliveira. Body kick from Lentz is caught and Oliveira follows up with punches. Lentz tries to clinch and Oliveira lands an elbow in response.
Lentz clinches up and again Oliveira fires off an elbow as they part. Uppercut from Oliveira. Leg kick for Lentz. Solid straight right for Oliveira snaps his opponent’s head back.
Right hook from Lentz. Now a body kick. Superman elbow from Oliveira, but Lentz then tries for a takedown that doesn’t pay off.
Front kick for Oliveira and then a grazing left hook. Lentz bleeding from his left eye now. Short right for Oliveira. Another straight right for Oliveira.
Hook for Oliveira. Right hand apiece. Jumping from kick from Oliveira lands, but Lentz takes it and then goes for the takedown. However as they go to ground Oliveira immediately sweeps on top.
Lentz bleeding more heavily from his eye now. Oliveira slickly moving from side to side on the mat here and lands a couple of big elbows in the process.
Half guard for Oliveira now and looking to pass. 30 seconds of the round remaining. He lands another elbow. Lentz does a good job to stand up. Front kick to the midsection from Oliveira and Lentz returns with a kick of his own. Oliveira tries for a jumping knee and then throws a spinning kick that lands off Lentz’s guard.
Round Two:
Front kick to the body from Oliveira. He backs his opponent up and throws a jumping knee. Lentz works for tha takedown and Oliveira is working a guillotine choke.
Lentz looked like he was going to tap, but then seems to think better of it and manages to survive. Now lentz is more securely on top, but eats an illegal upkick to the chin, which forces a stoppage.
Thankfully Lentz is ok to keep going and the fight starts again on the mat. Lentz still on top, but Oliveira quickly manages to get back up and lands a knee to the body as Lentz clinches up.
Lentz tries for tha takedown, but Oliveira stays upright. They go back to striking range and Oliveira works to the body as lentz lands a hook upstairs.
Body punch from Lentz, but Oliveira counters with a straight right that lands flush to the chin and drops him hard to the mat.
Oliveira follows that up with hammerfists and punches on the mat and Lentz rolls over and covers up until the referee moves in to end the fight, handing ‘Do Bronx’ the TKO victory.
