Chris Gutierrez KO’s Retiring Frankie Edgar In 1st Round At UFC 281

Chris Gutierrez puts an end to Frankie Edgar’s career in brutal fashion tonight at UFC 281 by knocking him out with a knee strike to the head in the first round.

Round One:

Body kick for Gutierrez. Now an outside low kick. Edgar misses on a low kick of his own.

Leg kick for Edgar. Edgar steps into range and eats a glancing punch and then a spinning backfist partially lands, but he’s ok.

Leg kick from Gutierrez. Body kick from Edgar as Gutierrez is slickly moving side to side.

Gutierrez times a big knee upstairs perfectly as Edgar is coming forward and it knocks him out cold at 2.01mins of the first round.

A moment many were dreading might happen in Edgar’s final fight after having also been knocked out in his previous two fights, but all credit to Gutierrez for a picture-perfect highlight reel finish to extend his unbeaten run to eight fights.
