Chris Weidman vs. Dominick Reyes Set For UFC On ESPN 6 Main Event

Chris Weidman’s light-heavyweight debut has been set against Dominick Reyes in the main event of UFC On ESPN 6, which takes place in Boston on October 18th.

That means Weidman is heading straight into a major fight in his new weight class, despite the former middleweight champion having suffered four defeats in his past five outings at 185lbs.

Weidman’s sole win during the past three-and-a-half years came by submission against Kelvin Gastelum in 2017, but sandwiched in-between times he’s been KO’d by both Yoel Romero and Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza along with being TKO’d by Luke Rockhold and Gegard Mousasi.

Now he’ll be going up against the No.4 ranked light-heavyweight in Reyes, who has a perfect 11-0 career record and is currently riding a five-fight winning streak in the UFC.

That run started with a TKO victory over Joachim Christensen back in 2017 and since then he’s racked up stoppage victories over Jeremy Kimball and Jared Cannonier, followed by decision wins over Ovince Saint-Preux and Volkan Oezdemir.

Weidman vs. Reyes headlines a UFC On ESPN 6 card that currently doesn’t have any other fights attached to it at this stage.
