Ciryl Gane vs. Alexander Volkov Headlines UFC Fight Night 191

A major heavyweight fight between Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov has been unveiled as the main event for UFC Fight Night 191 on June 26th.

Gane has been one of the most exciting rising stars in the UFC’s heavyweight division in over the past couple of years, having already put together a five-fight winning streak since joining the promotion in 2019 to extend his unbeaten career record to a perfect 8-0.

Gane’s level of competition has steadily risen over time and he’s proven to be up to the challenge, having TKO’d Junior dos Santos in December of last year and then earned a five round decision win over Jairzinho Rozenstruik in February.

That leaves Gane placed at No.4 in the rankings as he looks to get closer to his former training partner Francis Ngannou, who now holds the heavyweight crown.

34-year-old former Bellator champion volkov is another major force in the division, having won seven of his nine fights in the Octagon to date.

That includes two big wins in his last two UFC outings, which saw him the No.5 ranked heavyweight secure a second round TKO finish against Walt Harris followed by another TKO against Alistair Overeem back in February.

Gane vs. Volkov will lead a UFC Fight Night 191 card that also features Ovince Saint Preux vs. Max Grishin.
