Clay Guida Vs Bobby Green Announced For UFC 225

A lightweight fight between Clay Guida and Bobby Green has been announced for the increasingly stacked UFC 225 event on June 9th in Chicago.

Guida moved back to 155lbs last year after an underwhelming spell in the UFC’s featherweight ranks that had seen him go just 3-4, ending with a KO loss to Brian Ortega.

Since then the 36-year-old veteran has got back on track with wins over Erik Koch and Joe Lauzon, though more of the same will be required if he wants to get back into the top 15 rankings in this highly competitive division.

Green also defeated Koch in his last Octagon outing at the start of this year, and that brought an end to a run of four fights without a victory in which he tasted defeat against Edson Barboza, Dustin Poirier and Rashid Magomedov in addition to a draw against Lando Vannata.

Prior to that Green had been on an eight-fight winning streak, and at 31-years-old there’s still time for him to rediscover that kind of form in the Octagon.

Guida Vs Green joins an already star-filled UFC 225 line-up that includes a middleweight title fight between Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero, the interim welterweight title up for grabs when Colby Covington fights Rafael dos Anjos, plus Alistair Overeem Vs Curtis Blaydes, Holly Holm Vs Megan Anderson, CM Punk Vs Mike Jackson and Claudia Gadelha Vs Carla Esparza.
