Cody Garbrandt’s next fight will be against Mario Bautista at a UFC Fight Night event on August 19th.
The 31-year-old Garbrandt got back to winning ways last month with a unanimous decision victory over Trevin Jones at UFC 285.
Prior to that the former bantamweight champion had lost five of his last six fights, including suffering four losses via strikes against TJ Dillashaw (x2), Pedro Munhoz and most recently Kai Kara-France.
Now Garbrandt will take on the 29-year-old Bautista, who is currently on a four-fight winning streak.
It’s a run that began with a decision win over Jay Perrin and has been followed up by a trio of submission finishes in the first round against Brian Kelleher, Benito Lopez and most recently Guido Cannetti last month.
Garbrandt vs. Bautista is the first and only fight to be announced so far for the UFC Fight Night show on August 19th, which has also yet to receive a confirmed location.
