Conor McGregor and his long-time girlfriend Dee Devlin welcomed their first son into the world on Friday night.
“Baby Conor Jack McGregor was delivered last night at 8pm in the Coombe Hospital,” the UFC superstar’s dad Tony McGregor told mirror.co.uk. “He came in at 8 pounds 14 ounces. The whole family are absolutely delighted.”
“The parents are absolutely over the moon and everyone is healthy,” he added.
An Instagram account for McGregor Jr. was unveiled after his birth and he’s already well on his way to being a star in his own right with over 30,000 followers.
McGregor had infamously claimed last years to be “crapping me jocks” about the fact that he was about to become a father for the first time.
The UFC lightweight champion took the responsibility seriously though, taking an extended hiatus from fighting in the months prior to the birth so as not to put his partner Dee under any undue stress.
McGregor hasn’t rested on his laurels during his time off however, instead using it to try to negotiate a massive boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
So far the two fighters haven’t put pen to paper on a deal, but with McGregor’s son now born, fight fans will be hoping that he’ll now be eager to strap on his gloves and get back to business sooner rather than later.
