Conor McGregor Praises Teammate Artem Lobov After UFC Fight Night 108

Conor McGregor has praised his teammate Artem Lobov after he went the distance with Cub Swanson in the main event of UFC Fight Night 108 on Saturday night.

Lobov is a long-time training partner of McGregor’s at the SBG gym, but he wasn’t able to make it to his fight in Nashville at the weekend due to the imminent birth of his first child.

However, ‘The Notorious’ was watching the fight live back home in Ireland, and though Lobov lost on the night after a five-round scrap, McGregor indicated he was still proud of his friend.

“That was a great fight,” McGregor posted on Instagram. “Proud of my brother Artem! What a ride it’s been for the Russian Hammer. In a career filled with ups and downs he has never backed down from anything. Nothing but love and respect always my brother ❤”

It had been widely suspected that the only reason the unranked Lobov was headlining a show opposite the No.3 featherweight contender Swanson was due to his ties to McGregor.

Nevertheless, Lobov did his best to make the fight competitive on Saturday night, show good heart and a stellar chin as he ate a lot of big shots and even landed a few of his own, before losing out by unanimous decision (49-46 x2, 50-45).
