Conor McGregor Requests Fight With Tenshin Nasukawa; Fighter Responds

Conor McGregor has taken to social media to request a fight with Rizin star Tenshin Nasukawa after watching his knockout loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr in an exhibition boxing bout on New Years Eve.

“I want to go to Tokyo to face Tenshin Nasukawa in a Mixed Martial Arts exhibition bout,” McGregor wrote on Instagram. “Before this summer. Please arrange this, this instant. Yours sincerely, the champ champ.”

It’s not clear if McGregor is genuinely interested in the fight, perhaps enticed by Mayweather revealing that he made $9 million for the fight, or if he’s just poking fun at the somewhat bizarre bout that took place at the turn of the year.

Either way, Nasukawa has since responded to McGregor, and appears to be taking his offer seriously.

“Thank you very much for remembering my name,” the 20-year-old Nasukawa stated. “I’m honored that you would even consider fighting me.

“I will fight [for] my RISE world GP this year, so please watch your diet and wait for me!”

However, Rizin may think twice about spending a fortune again to bring over another superstar like McGregor to Japan after the exhibition bout on NYE failed to bring the kind of TV ratings they were hoping for.
