Conor McGregor has responded to Floyd Mayweather after the boxer claimed that the UFC superstar could wear 8oz gloves instead of 10oz ones for their fight on August 26th if he wants to.
“Another handy 12 rounds today,” McGregor wrote on Instagram. “We are prepared to destroy Floyd. Pick whatever size gloves you want as well little man. I fight with 4oz. I don’t give a fuck about the size of the glove. I am coming sprinting at you with bricks. Know that. Brittle hands.”
Meanwhile, one of McGregor’s training partners, commonwealth silver medal boxer Tiernan Bradley is the latest bystander to offer an account of how the Irishman’s recent sparring session with retired two-dvision boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi.
““I was in Paulie’s corner and although he hasn’t fought since March and is retired, he’s getting sharper by the day,” Bradley told the Irish News.
“Conor told us all when Paulie came into camp ‘this is not a spar, I want to fight him. I’m ready for a war.”/em>
Afterwards Malignaggi had told the media that McGregor has “above average” punching power, but not, “oh my god power,” and Bradley thinks that ‘The Notorious’ may now try to force him to eat those words the next time they get into the ring together.
“I saw what he said about Conor’s power, and he’s playing a bit of a dangerous game because he still has more spars to go with Conor, and Conor will be out there to knock him out. He’ll want to show him he has ‘oh my God’ power.”
Malignaggi is currently back in McGregor’s camp and as things stand he expects to remain there until the end of the camp.
