Conor McGregor Vs Floyd Mayweather May Take Place On August 26th

The boxing superfight that everyone’s been talking about between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather may be taking place sooner than expected, with the latest report being that the fight may happen in August.

That’s the word according to ESPN, who says that Mayweather Promotions are now targeting Saturday, August 26th in Las Vegas for the biggest fight of the year, with the T-Mobile Arena expected to be the venue.

The original plan had been to have the fight on Saturday, September 16th, but that fell through due to the two superstars stalling on agreeing terms, which resulted in another major boxing match between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin taking that date instead.

However, the fact that Mayweather’s team are now targeting a date several weeks earlier for the fight suggests that talks are now progressing rapidly, with McGregor’s end of the deal already reported to have been wrapped up last month.

‘The Notorious’ also appeared to hint that the fight may soon be officially announced in a post on Instagram, which simply stated that, “Something BIG is coming.”

McGregor has also since made a cheeky post making fun of Mayweather, pretending to mistake him for his father.

Man, much respect to Floyd Senior still getting a few rounds in at the gym. I hope I can still train at that age. Respect.
