Corey Anderson vs. Johnny Walker Headed For UFC 244

A light-heavyweight fight between Corey Anderson and Johnny Walker has been targeted for UFC 244 at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 2nd.

Anderson heads into the fight coming off a three-fight winning streak that began with a decision victory over Patrick Cummins last year.

Since then he’s gone to the judges twice more against Glover Teixeira and Ilir Latifi and on both occasions emerged with his hand raised, leaving him ranked No.8 in the division.

As for Walker, he’s also racked up three victories in a row since joining the UFC, although all of his wins have come by way of swift stoppages.

That trend started with a first round KO finish against Khalil Rountree Jr in his Octagon debut, followed by a 15 second TKO against Justin Ledet and then most recently a 36 second TKO at Mish Circunov’s expense.

The sting in the tail was that after that last victory Walker his post-fight ‘worm’ celebration dance failed and left him with a dislocated shoulder that would require surgery and has kept the 12th ranked contender out of action for several months.

Anderson vs. Walker joins a UFC 244 card that does not yet have a headlining fight, but will also feature a heavyweight clash between Derrick Lewis and Blagoy Ivanov.
