Cory Sandhagen Called Out Marlon Vera And Merab Dvalishvili And Here’s Their Responses

After his fourth round TKO stoppage of Song Yadong at UFC Fight Night 210 on Saturday night, Cory Sandhagen made it clear who he’s interested in fighting next, and it seems like at least two of his potential opponents are onboard with the idea.

“One of those guys in October,” Sandhagen said of the upcoming title fight between TJ Dillashaw and Aljamain Sterling when asked post-fight who he wanted to fight next, before adding, “or Chito [Vera] & Merab [Dvalishvili] are the top two guys. I don’t want to get left out. Last time I got left out, I had to fight down in the rankings, I want to fight someone at the top.

“Give me someone for Christmas,”

Sandhagen is currently ranked No.4 in the bantamweight division, while Dvalishvili is No.3 and Vera is No.5, so both those fights make a lot of sense at this stage and each has welcomed the idea of fighting him next.

“My answer is yes of course. Let’s go,” Dvalishvili said on Twitter after hearing Sandhagen’s call-out.

Meanwhile, Vera was actually their live for the event and also signalled his interest in the match-up.

“If he wants it, he can get it,” Vera said. “I’m not shying away from any fight. I’m a fighter, I’ll fight anybody, I want to be a world champion. If I want to get there and get the belt, I don’t run away from no one. If he wants it, he can get it—or, I don’t know, whatever the f-ck the UFC wants. I’m ready to go right now.”
