Cris ‘Cyborg’ Will Fight At UFC 214, But Not Against Megan Anderson

Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino’s next fight will definitely be taking place at UFC 214 on July 29th in Anaheim, California.

That’s the word according to Dana White, who confirmed on the UFC Unfiltered podcast that she will be on the card, though they still aren’t ready to announce who her opponent will be yet.

One person who we now know for sure won’t be getting the fight is Invicta FC featherweight champion Megan Anderson, who had been actively campaigning for the opportunity to lock horns with the Brazilian star.

Invicta FC announced yesterday that Anderson will instead be defending her belt against Helena Kolesnyk on July 15th.

Meanwhile, just a few days ago current UFC women’s featherweight champion Germaine De Randamie also ruled herself out of the fight, stating that she wouldn’t fight ‘Cyborg’ due to her past drug test failures.

With that in mind, the only fighter who has recently been linked to ‘Cyborg’ is former bantamweight title contender Cat Zingano, who is known to be willing to take the fight.

However, the fact that this match-up still hasn’t been announced, even several weeks after it was first rumored, suggests that it’s far from certain that it will come to fruition.

Whoever it ends up being, the main takeaway for now is that it appears ‘Cyborg’ isn’t going to be cut from the promotion for her recent physical altercation with Angela Magana at the UFC Athlete Retreat in Las Vegas
