A featherweight fight between Cub Swanson and Hakweem Dawodu has been announced for UFC On ESPN 49 in Las Vegas on August 12th.
The 39-year-old Swanson is coming off a TKO loss to Jonathan Martinez back in October, in what’s proved to be a short-lived drop down to the bantamweight division last October.
The veteran had won three of his previous four fights at featherweight though, beating Kron Gracie, Daniel Pineda and Darren Elkins, though he did also suffer a TKO loss to Giga Chikadze too.
Now he’ll be going up against the 31-year-old Dawodu, who lost out on the scorecards to Julian Erosa back in September of last year.
Dawodu holds a 6-3 record in the UFC to date, with some of his notable performances include decision wins over the likes of Zubaira Tukhugov, Michael Trizano and Julio Arce.
Swanson vs. Dawodu joins a UFC On ESPN 49 card that’s set to be headlined by Vicente Luque vs. Rafael dos Anjos, while Khalil Rountree Jr. vs. Chris Daukaus and Polyana Viana vs. Iasmin Lucindo are among the other fights so far confirmed for the event.
