Two upcoming pay-per-view events have taken a hint due to injuries, with Dan Hooker out of UFC 285 in Las Vegas on March 4th, while Nathaniel Wood has pulled out of UFC 286 in London, England on March 18th.
Hooker had been scheduled to fight Jalin Turner at UFC 285, but he’s suffered a broken hand in training that’ll keep him out of action for the time being.
At this stage it remains to be seen whether the UFC will look to keep the No.10 ranked lightweight Turner on the card as he looks to improve on his current five-fight winning streak in the promotion.
Meanwhile, Nathaniel Wood is out of his UFC 286 fight against Lerone Murphy in his native England after he suffered a freak accident in training that left him with a nasty gash near his knee.
“For those asking I unfortunately sliced my knee on some wooden trim on the outside of the mats going for a takedown,” Wood explained on Twitter.
“Unfortunately I cannot bend my knee until these stitches are out.”
There’s no indication yet as to whether the undefeated Murphy will stay on the line-up, but with over a month to go until fight night it seems more likely than not that they’ll be able to find a suitable opponent for him.
