Dana White Planning To Stay On Fight Island For Whole Of July

During a new interview with Jon Anik on ESPN, Dana White spoke about the mysterious ‘Fight Island’ that is currently in the works to host fights between internationally based fighters during the coronavirus pandemic.

The infrastructure is currently still being built and installed in order to host events there, but there’s been talk that it could be ready to hold an event by July, and it seems that White himself is planning to be there to oversee everything.

“People are very intrigued by ‘Fight Island,’ and I’m excited for it,” White told Anik. “Right now we’re looking at June, and we’re literally gonna knock out three or four (events) there in a month. And I’m gonna stay on the island for a month. I’ll probably be there the whole month of July.”

The whole concept of Fight Island appears to have captured everyone’s imagination and White revealed that even Ari Emanuel, the CEO of UFC owners Endeavour having been bombarded for details about where it is situated.

“You know what’s hilarious about you asking me that question right now: Literally this morning when I was driving to work, I was talking to Ari, and Ari goes, ‘How many people a day ask you where Fight Island is?’” White said. “I guess people are blowing him up, asking where ‘Fight Island’ is.”
