Dana White’s Contender Series 7 Episode 7

Four more fighters were awarded UFC contracts last night after their fights on Dana White’s Contender Series 7 Episode 7.

They included main event winner Shamil Gaziev, who dropped Greg Valasco with his first punch of the fight and then was able to get to his back and sink in the fight-ending rear-naked choke mid-way through the round.

Also earning a contract was Stephanie Luciano, who lost the first two rounds of her fight after being controlled on the mat by Talita Alencar, but then in the final round she took advantage of her opponent running out of steam to completely dominate her with high-volume punches. That led to the final round being scored a 10-8 and resulted in a draw, but Luciano’s comeback impressed the UFC brass enough to win a place on the UFC roster.

Kayan Krushewsky secured his UFC contract in a more convincing manner when he rendered Dylan Mantello unconscious half-way through the first round via rear-naked choke.

And in the opening fight of the night Igor da Silva’s place on the roster was sealed in the second round of his fight with Jhonata Silva after he dropped his opponent with a left hook and followed up with ground-and-pound for a TKO stoppage.
