Dana White’s Contender Series 7 Week 4 took place last night and led to three more fighters being awarded UFC contracts.
Carlos Prates earned his spot on the UFC roster with an impressive KO win in the main event against Mitch Ramirez.
Prates showed off impressive precision with his punches and kicks from start to finish here, picking Ramirez apart in the opening round, and then delivering a walk-off straight-left KO 74 seconds in the 2nd.
The two fights before that had gone to a decision and didn’t produce a UFC contract, but earlier in the night heavyweight Thomas Peterson did after he controlled the opening round against Chandler Cole on the mat, then brought him straight back down again in the 2nd and set up a kimura submission to force the tap-out at 1.08mins of the round.
Also earning a contract was the winner of the opening fight of the show as Bolaji Oki took the fight to Dylan Salvador in the first round, repeatedly landing big right hands and body shots to back his opponent up against the cage, before unleashing another flurry of punches and a final rip to the body that sunk for a TKO stoppage at the 2.46min mark.
