Darren Till Was Arrested For DUI Last Month In Sweden

It has emerged that UFC star Darren Till was arrested for DUI last month while spending time in Sweden, where he often goes to train with the likes of Khamzat Chimaev at the Allstars Training Center in Stockholm.

According to a police report Till was pulled over for speeding in a silver Audi on the night of July 31st, at which point he initially claimed that it was his female companion who had been driving, though he soon changed his story and admitted that he was the one behind the wheel.

Till also told police that he’d had “one or two beers,” at a restaurant that night, but a subsequent breath test showed that he was three times above the legal limit, leading the UFC middleweight fighter to acknowledge that he had been driving while drunk and accepting an undisclosed penalty order.

The 29-year-old Till had been left disappointed earlier in July after having to pull out of a fight with Jack Hermansson on July 23rd due to an injury. In an interview at the time Till had stated that, “It’s just such a f*cking depressing time for me at the moment,” and likened his situation to that of boxing superstar Tyson Fury when he was struggling with depression during his career.

However, Till had went on to say that, “Obviously I’m not drinking and taking drugs – that’s not my way.”

Till’s frustration is understandable as he’s currently at a tough moment in his career, having lost four of his last five fights, with his last appearance resulting in a submission loss to Derek Brunson a year ago.

This isn’t the first time during this slump in form that Till has ran in to trouble outside of the Octagon however, as he was also arrested in Spain back in 2019 after trashing a hotel in Tenerife and then stealing a taxi outside, leading to a $10,000 fine.
