Diego Lopes showed off his submission prowess with a swift submission finish over Gavin Tucker tonight at UFC On ESPN 50.
Round One:
Tucker with a body kick. Inside leg kick from Tucker, but it strays to the groin and forces a brief stoppage.
Back to it they go. Tucker darts in with a right hand. Now Tucker goes for a single leg and lands it, but Lopes jumps into a triangle choke set up in the center of the Octagon.
Lopes working an armbar at the same time as locking in that triangle choke properly, then rolls on top, and that’s it, Lopes walks off with his hand raised thanks to that triangle-armbar submission at 1.38mins of the opening round. Really slick work from Lopes!
