Dominick Reyes Open To Idea Of Jan Blachowicz Fight For Interim Title

Dominick Reyes is still eager to have a rematch with Jon Jones next, but if that’s not possible then he’s also made it clear he’s interested in fighting fellow top contender Jan Blachowicz too – if it’s for the interim title.

“This is a guy I’ve been wanting to fight for a minute, so if there’s an interim then yeah, hell yeah, let’s do it,” Reyes said on the ‘What The Heck’ show.

“I think he’s a fantastic fighter. I think he’s one of the most technical guys in the division. I think he has some really good power. I think he’s just a technical beast and he has a lot of experience to where he’s wise with his technical ability. I’ve been wanting to fight Jan since I beat Jared Cannonier.

“I don’t know if you guys know or remember, I called him out right after the fight. This is a guy I’ve been wanting to fight for a minute, so if there’s an interim then yeah, hell yeah, let’s do it. But I think we’re gonna get that rematch first.”

For his part, Jones has appeared to be leaning more towards fighting Blachowicz next instead of heading into another rematch with Reyes, but it remains to be seen if the champion actually wants to compete while the pandemic still has such a strong grip on the world, so it’s certainly not out of the question that Reyes vs. Blachowicz could become a reality.
