Donald Cerrone vs. Joe Lauzon Now Set For UFC On ESPN 37 In June

A fight between Donald Cerrone and Joe Lauzon has now been moved to UFC On ESPN 37 on June 18th.

The clash of veterans was originally scheduled to take place on the main card of this past weekend’s UFC 274 event in Phoenix, but Cerrone suffered food poisoning on the day of the fight and had to withdraw.

The two stars had been eager to have the fight take place in front of a live audience and so they’ll no doubt be relieved to hear that it will be taking place at a packed arena in Austin, Texas.

Cerrone heads into the fight with no wins to show from his last six fights, and that reversal in fortunes had led to the 39-year-old confirming prior to UFC 274 that he only intends to fight two more times before hanging up his gloves for good.

As for 37-year-old Lauzon, his last fight was well over two years ago and he’s also admitted that he’s on the verge of calling it a career, though he’s still left the door open for the possibility that his fight with Cerrone might not be his last.

“I have to like the opponent, I have to like the date, and I have to like the location,” Lauzon said before UFC 274. “If this is the last fight, cool. If this is not the last fight, cool. But just keep sending me names.”

Cerrone vs. Lauzon joins a UFC On ESPN 37 card that’s set to be headlined by a featherweight fight between Calvin Kattar and Josh Emmett.
