Drew Dober was close to being finished early in the first round against Terrance McKinney, but he recovered and then quickly turned the screw, leading to a TKO finish later in the round.

Round One:

Big knee upstairs from McKinney straight away. Dober tries to cling on to his leg as he stumbles back, but a flurry of punches drops him to the mat. McKinney attempts to finish him, but Dober somehow is able to withstand that and battles back to his feet, dazed but still in the fight.

Instantly McKinney is throwing heavy leather again and lands punches and another knee upstairs to put Dober down again. Wild action here as McKinney goes for the kill, but Dober is incredibly tough and fights back to his feet again.

Dober grins at his opponent but there’s no doubt he’s been in some real trouble at times in this first round. McKinney’s forward pressure leads him to a takedown.

Not much happening on top here though and Dober is able to kick him off and stand back up. McKinney tries for a head kick as he rises, but Dober stays upright.

Dober now trying to press forward and work his own offense. He throws a knee upstairs from close range and McKinney folds to the mat!

Now it’s Dober’s turn to go for a finish and he unleashes a blistering ground-and-pound assault as his opponent desperately covers up, and that’s it – the referee’s seen enough and Dober seals an impressive come-from-behind TKO victory at 3.17mins of the opening round.
