Edson Barboza added another stunning highlight reel finish to his resume tonight at UFC On ESPN 44, knocking out Billy Quarantillo mid-way through the opening round with a knee to the head.
Round One:
Quarantillo immediately into a single leg attempt and goes to the cage with it. Barboza does well to stay upright though and eventually gets away.
Thudding leg kick lands from Barboza. He throws another thhat doesn’t land quite as well. Double jab from Quarantillo. Left hand and a leg kick from him. Combination from Barboza.
Body punches and one to the head from Quarantillo then drives into a takedown. Barboza almost gets away but Quarantillo clings onto his foot and then gets back up, pressing Barboza into the cage.
Barboza gets away and lands a leg kick. Overhand right lands for Barboza. Quarantillo firing back though. Hook for him.
Quarantillo driving forward with confidence applying pressure and throws a kick, then a punch as he ducks for a potential takedown, only for Barboza to perfectly time a knee strike to the face that collapses him to the canvas! Great KO finish by the veteran striking sensation at 2.37mins of the first round.
