In a new video, Floyd Mayweather and Paulie Malignaggi attempt to troll Conor McGregor by claiming that ‘Magic Man’ agreed to train with the Irish star at ‘Money’s’ request.
In the footage the two boxing stars are seen laughing and taunting McGregor while insinuating that Malignaggi had been a ‘mole’ in the UFC lightweight champion’s camp.
Their claims don’t really hold up to closer scrutiny and seems more like a spur-of-the-moment opportunity to continue the pre-fight mind games, and to that extent it may well leave McGregor wondering whether Malignaggi’s anger at video clips and photos from their sparring sessions having been leaked, has led to him seeking revenge by revealing secrets about his strategy for the fight on Saturday night.
At the same time, it could also come off as Malignaggi clutching at straws as he attempts to save face after his reputation took a hit due to the video clips of him being repeatedly punched and then knocked down by McGregor in camp, despite having claimed months earlier that he could beat the UFC star with one hand tied behind his back.
