Floyd Mayweather Taunts Conor McGregor With Video Stepping Into the Cage

Floyd Mayweather Jr appears to be continuing to play mindgames with Conor McGregor, despite already having won their blockbuster boxing match last year.

In a new Instagram video, Mayweather is seen stepping into an MMA cage and pacing around like he’s getting ready to fight, which has set the rumor mill alight with talk that the 41-year-old may seriously be thinking about competing in the sport.

Despite having admitted last year that he craves a rematch with Mayweather and having previously dared him to set foot in the Octagon with him, McGregor doesn’t seem to be taking his rival’s latest video too seriously.

“Hahahaha very good. Keep up the good work my son. Yours sincerely, Senior,” McGregor wrote on Mayweather’s original post.

However, the message on his own Instagram post was less friendly, writing, “f*ck the Mayweathers.”

Fuck the Mayweathers.

Of course, the reality is that Mayweather’s post is just a publicity stunt to keep his name in the news, while also getting a rise out of his rival as ‘Money’ knows only too well that taking an MMA fight with McGregor would be a sure-fire way to earn the first loss of his combat sports career.

If Mayweather ever does burn through his savings and decides that he wants a rematch, then there’s no question that it will be boxing match, although admittedly it would be an interesting marketing spin if he agreed to do it in the cage with MMA gloves.

The smart money is on Mayweather staying retired though.
