A featherweight rematch between Frankie Edgar and Cub Swanson is believed to be in the works for UFC Fight Night 128 on April 21st in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

If so, that’s a surprisingly swift turnaround for Edgar given that he was KO’d for the first time in his career by Brian Ortega just a few weeks ago at UFC 222 on March 3rd.

No doubt the 36-year-old will be eager to get back on the saddle after that disappointment, but questions are sure to be raised as to whether its a good idea for him to return to action quite so soon.

As for Swanson, he is coincidentally also coming off a loss to Ortega, though in his case the finish came by submission back at UFC Fight Night 123 back in December.

Prior to that Swanson had been on a four-fight winning streak in the division, although in his previous fight with Edgar back in 2014 he lost to a neck crank submission just four seconds before the end of the ir five round encounter.

Edgar Vs Swanson would join a UFC Fight night 128 card that already has a headliner installed featuring Edson Barboza Vs Kevin Lee, while David Branch fights Thiago Santos and Aljamain Sterling goes up against Brett Johns.
