Gabriel Gonzaga KO’s Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva At BareKnuckle Boxing Event

Two grizzled heavyweight MMA veterans Gabriel Gonzaga and Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva clashed in a bareknuckle boxing bout at BKF 8 last night, with predictable results.

It always seemed like a terrible idea for the 40-year-old Silva to agree to compete in any combat sport at this stage in his career, let alone a bareknuckle boxing one.

After all, Silva has only won once in his last 10 MMA fights and even more alarmingly, seven of those losses came by way of strikes, including 5 clean KO’s.

That’s the kind of form that makes it abundantly clear that it’s time to retire, but ‘Bigfoot’ has stubbornly refused to accept that his time is up, and so he was made to pay the price yet again last night as Gonzaga caught him flush with an uppercut and then a left hook to knock him out in the second round of their encounter last night.

In all fairness, the also 40-year-old Gonzaga had also had a rough run of form leading up to this fight, having lost five of his last six fights, four of which came by way of strikes, but he had enough still left in the tank to get the job done against Silva.
