Glover Teixeira Out Of UFC Fight Night 137 Headliner

Light-heavyweight fighter Glover Teixiera has unfortunately been forced out of his UFC Fight Night 137 headlining bout against Jimi Manuwa in Sao Paulo, Brazil on September 22nd due to an injury.

The nature of Teixeira’s injury is not currently known, though it is believed he has been struggling with a shoulder issue in recent months that may have something to do with it.

The 38-year-old was coming off a unanimous decision loss to Corey Anderson just late last month, marking his third loss in his last five fights for the former title contender.

With there still being over a month until the event it’s likely the UFC will now be searching for a suitable replacement to keep Manuwa in the headline spot on the card.

The 38-year-old Manuwa has also had a tough time of late, coming off back-to-back losses against Volkan Oezdemir and Jan Blachowicz, though he did enjoy KO victories over Corey Anderson and Ovince Saint Preux prior to that.

In the mean time, UFC Fight Night 137 proceeds with a card that also includes the likes of Antonio Rogerio Nogueira Vs Sam Alvey, Neil Magny Vs Alex Oliveira, Francisco Trinaldo Vs Evan Dunham and Thales Leites Vs Hector Lombard.
