A light-heavyweight fight between Glover Teixeira and Ilir Latifi is rumored to be in the works for UFC Fight night 134 in Hamburg, Germany on July 22nd.
The 38-year-old Teixeira is coming off a TKO victory over Misha Cirkunov in December of last year, which continues as recent trend for the Brazilian of alternating between wins and losses over the course of his last five fights.
It began with a first round KO win over Rashad Evans back in 2016, followed by a 13 second knockout defeat against Anthony Johnson just a few months later.
Following on from that he claimed a decision win over Jared Cannonier, but then lost again by KO to Alexander Gustafsson.
Now back in the win column following the win over Cirkunov, Teixeira will try to compile back-to-back wins by going up against the 34-year-old Latifi.
As it happens, ‘The Sledgehammer’ currently has two wins in a row under his belt coming into this fight against Tyson Pedro and Ovince Saint Preux, leaving him ranked at No.4 in the division, just one place behind Teixeira.
If it goes through, Teixeira Vs Latifi is expected to join a UFC Fight Night 134 card that will be headlined by more 205lb action as Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua goes up against Volkan Oezdemir, while Stefan Struve will also fight Marcin Tybura on the main card.
