Gregor Gillespie Vs Yancy Medeiros Signed For UFC On ESPN+ 1

Gregor Gillespie Vs Yancy Medeiros has been added to the UFC On ESPN+ 1 card on January 19th in Brooklyn, New York, which will mark the debut event for the promotion on the ESPN network.

The 31 year old Gillespie, known as ‘The Gift’ is currently unbeaten in his 12-fight career and has racked up five wins inside the Octagon to date, defeating the likes of Andrew Hallbrook, Jordan Rinaldi and most recently Vinc Pichel along the way.

That’s not been enough to get him a spot on the lightweight rankings so far however, so he’ll now continue to attempt to build his resume with a slightly higher profile opponent.

That comes in the shape of the 31 year old Medeiros, whose last fight was a TKO loss to Donald Cerrone back in February. That snapped a three-fight winning streak that had seen the Hawaiian native defeat the likes of Sean Spencer, Erik Silva and Alex Oliveira.

Gillespie Vs Medeiros joins a UFC On ESPN+ 1 card that’s set to be headlined by a flyweight superfight featuring current champion Henry Cejudo against bantamweight kingpin TJ Dillashaw, while Paige VanZant fights Rachael Ostovich, Donald Cerrone goes up against Alexander Hernandez and Glover Teixiera squares up to Ion Cutelaba.
