Gunnar Nelson Vs Neil Magny Rumored For UFC Fight Night 130

A welterweight clash between Gunnar Nelson and Neil Magny is rumored to be in the works for UFC Fight Night 130 on May 27th in Liverpool, England.

The Icelandic born Nelson would be returning to the Octagon for the first time since suffering the only knockout loss of his career to date against Santiago Ponzinibbio back in July of last year.

Prior to that the 29-year-old Nelson had been on a two-fight winning streak against Albert Tumeonov and Alan Jouban, though overall he’s only managed to compile a 3-3 record in his past six fights, which is something of a disappointment for a fighter who went undefeated in his first 14 professional fights.

Meanwhile, Magny is coming off a high-profile win over Carlos Condit at UFC 219 back in December, following on from a submission loss to Rafael dos Anjos a few months earlier.

Over the past few years the 39-year-old has emerged victorious against a number of other well known stars including the likes of Johny Hendricks, Hector Lombard and Kelvin Gastelum.

If Nelson Vs Magny does become official it will join a UFC Fight Night 130 card thats set to be headlined by another welterweight fight between Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson and Darren Till.
