Holly Holm’s Manager Shuts Down Miesha Tate’s Rematch Call-Out

Miesha Tate recently called out Holly Holm to rematch her at UFC 300 in April, but despite it presenting an opportunity for ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ to avenge her title loss to ‘Cupcake’ back in 2016 it seems that she has no interest in the match-up.

That’s the word according to her manager Lenny Fresquez, who suggests that the reason for their lack of interest in the rematch is due to the fact that Tate has turned down their offers to make the fight multiple times in the past.

“She wants nothing to do with Holly,” Fresquez told. “She’s turned down the fight three times already. We are looking for someone tougher.”

The 42-year-old Holm is coming off a submission loss to Mayra Bueno Silva in July that was later amended to a no-contest after her opponent tested positive for ritalinic acid, a banned medication that Silva confirmed later was being used to treat her ADHD.

Holm also earned a victory over Yana Santos in 2023, leaving her ranked No.6 in the division heading into 2024, while Tate’s submission finish over Julia Avila earlier this month got her back to winning ways after two losses and sees her ranked at No.11.

Despite Holm’s apparent disinterest in fighting Tate, Fresquez did indicate that the former champ was still looking to fight at UFC 300.

“We are hopeful we will be on UFC 300,” Fresquez said. “No opponents have been brought up yet.”
