Jailton Almeida Wants To Fight Tai Tuivasa Next

Jailton Almeida earned his fight win in a row on Saturday night with a first-round submission finish against Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the main event of UFC On ABC 4 and now he’s got a well-known heavyweight star in mind for his next fight.

“Of course, UFC Abu Dhabi or UFC Brazil around October,” Almeida said of his next fight. “I want Tai Tuivasa. Either he comes to Brazil and feels the energy down there, or perhaps go to Abu Dhabi, where I heard he actually does his camps. So no worries, we can do that. We’ll make the effort and go to him.”

The 30-year-old Tuivasa is coming off back-to-back KO losses against Ciryl Gane and Sergei Pavlovich. However, he still holds the No.6 spot in the heavyweight rankings thanks to his previous run of five wins in a row that saw him pick up a series of T(KO) finishes against the likes of Derrick Lewis, Stefan Struve, Augusto Sakai and Greg Hardy.

As for Almeida, Saturday night’s win over Rozenstruik was his biggest yet, but he’s also beaten the likes of Shamil Abdurakhimov, Parker Porter and Danilo Marques during his time in the UFC so far and is now looking to propel himself up the division’s top 10 rankings.
