Former light-heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz’s next fight will be against Carlos Ulberg at UFC Fight Night 255 in London, England on March 22nd.
It’s been a year-and-a-half since the 41-year-old Blachowicz last stepped into the Octagon, dropping a split-decision loss to future champion Alex Pereira at UFC 291.
Prior to that in late 2022 Blachowicz had an unsuccessful bid to reclaim the vacant 205lb title against Magomed Ankalaev that ended in a split-draw verdict, meaning that neither won the belt.
Despite his lengthy absence from the Octagon, Blachowicz remains ranked No.4 heading into his next fight against the 34-year-old Ulberg, who is ranked No.7.
Ulberg is currently on a seven-fight winning streak in the promotion and has enjoyed a successful 2024 campaign with a 12 second KO victory against Alonzo Menifield being followed up by a unanimous decision win over Volkan Oezdemir just last month.
Blachowicz vs Ulberg joins a UFC Fight Night 255 card that doesn’t yet have a confirmed headliner, though former welterweight champion Leon Edwards has claimed he will be fronting the show against an as-yet unnamed opponent.
