Veteran UFC lightweight Jim Miller will fight Francisco Trinaldo at UFC Fight Night 119 in Sao Paulo, Brazil on October 28th, according to the Combate website.
The 34-year-old Miller is coming off back-to-back defeats in the Octagon so far this year, having lost out by majority decision against Dustin Poirier and then a unanimous decision against former champion Anthony Pettis.
Prior to that he was on a three-fight winning streak however, and he’ll be looking to get back on track with a rare outing outside of North America (Miller’s only other fight internationally was his UFC debut in the UK back in 2008).
Meanwhile, the 39-year-old Trinaldo was on an impressive seven-fight winning streak up until he was paired with current interim lightweight title challenger Kevin Lee back in March, who defeated him by way of a second round rear-naked choke.
Miller Vs Trinaldo would be joining a UFC Fight Night 119 card that’s essentially complete at this stage, with Lyoto Machida set to headline the proceedings opposite Derek Brunson, while Demian Maia will fight Colby Covington.
However, Glover Teixeira Vs Misha Cirkunov was recently moved from the event to a FOX event later in the year, which may be why UFC officials have now looked to bring another notable match-up to the table.
