Jimi Manuwa To Fight Aleksander Rakic At UFC Fight Night 152

A light-heavyweight fight between Jimi Manuwa and Aleksande Rakic has been booked for UFC Fight Night 152 in Stockholm, Sweden on June 1st.

It’s been a rough ride for Manuwa in the UFC of late, having lost three fights in a row, starting with a 42 second knockout defeat against Volkan Oezdemir.

He then lost by unanimous decision against Jan Blachowicz last year and was subsequently knocked out by Thiago Santos in a barnburner back in December.

He did rack up knockout victories over Ovince Saint Preux and Corey Anderson before that, but those triumphs will seem like a long way away now so a win in Stockholm will be seen as a must for ‘The Poster Boy.’

In Rakic he faces a rising prospect who has gone undefeated in his last 10 professional fights, including three inside the UFC’s octagon.

That includes decision wins over Francimar Barroso and Justin Ledet, plus a TKO win over Devin Clark last time out, but this will certainly be by far his biggest test to date.

Manuwa Vs Rakic joins a UFC Fight Night 152 card that will be headlined by Alexander Gustafsson Vs Anthony Smith with Volkan Oezdemir Vs Ilir Latifi potentially taking co-main event honors.
