Jimi Manuwa Vs Jan Blachowicz Set For UFC Fight Night 127

A light-heavyweight rematch between the heavy-handed Jimi Manuwa and Jan Blachowicz has been booked for UFC Fight Night 127 on March 17th in London, England.

Manuwa previously fought Blachowicz in Poland back in April of 2015, emerging victorious by way of a convincing unanimous decision verdict on that occasion.

Since then Manuwa has experienced mixed fortunes in the division, with knockout wins over Corey Anderson and Ovince Saint Preux being balanced out by KO losses against Anthony Johnson and most recently Volkan Oezdemir back in July of 2017.

The loss to Manuwa was the start of a rough patch for Blachowicz in which he would lose four out of five fights in the Octagon, suffering losses to Cory Anderson, Alexander Gustafsson and Patrick Cummins alongside a solitary victory over Igor Pokrajac.

However, Blachowicz has since started to get back to winning ways with wins over Devon Clark and Jared Cannonier, and that’s been deemed enough to give the No.7 ranked contender another chance against the division’s current No.4, Manuwa.

Manuwa Vs Blachowicz joins a UFC Fight Night 127 card that’s still very much in the process of being built, with no headliner yet having been confirmed and the only other fight of any real note that’s been confirmed so far seeing the in-form Leon Edwards go up against Peter Sobotta.
