A light-heavyweight fight between Jimmy Crute and Johnny Walker has been lined up for UFC Fight Night 190 on March 27th at a destination still to be confirmed.
Crute compiled back-to-back ‘Performance Of The Night’ victories in 2020, starting off with a kimura submission finish against Michal Oleksiejczuk back in February and then following that up with a knockout stoppage of Modestas Bukauskas in October.
In total Crute wields a 12-1 career record, including a 4-1 stint in the UFC to date and is currently ranked No.12 in the 205lb division.
Meanwhile, Walker’s UFC career started in impressive fashion with a trio of first round highlight-reel finishes, KO’ing Khalil Rountree Jr. with an elbow, TKO’ing Justin Ledet with a spinning backfist and then stopping Misha Cirkunov with a flying knee.
However, Walker’s form then slipped with a TKO loss to Corey Anderson and then a decision defeat against Nikita Krylov.
A return to form with a KO finish against Ryan Spann has steadied the ship though and Walker heads into 2021 as the UFC’s No.9 ranked light-heavyweight.
Crute vs. Walker joins a UFC Fight Night 190 card that currently has no other fights attached to it and as such it’s not clear at this early stage whether this bout will serve as the main event.
