Joe Pyfer vs. Jack Hermansson To Headline UFC Fight Night 236 In February

Joe Pyfer will get his first opportunity to headline a card when he takes on Jack Hermansson at UFC Fight Night 236 in Las Vegas on February 10th.

The 27-year-old Pyfer initially joined the UFC via the Contender Series last year. He’d fought on the show on two occasions, with the first back in 2020 ending in unfortunate circumstances when he suffered a freak elbow injury, before returning in July of 2022 to claim a quick TKO victory and book his spot in the promotion.

And things have gone well since then, racking up three wins in a row in the Octagon so far, including 1st round TKO finishes of both Alen Amedovski and Gerald Meerschaert followed by a 2nd round submission finish against Abdul Razak Alhassan last month.

Now Pyfer gets a step up in competition and opportunity to break into the middleweight rankings against the 35-year-old Hermansson, who is currently placed at No.10 in the division.

Hermansson has been alternating between wins and losses over the course of his last eight fights, during which time he’s beaten the likes of Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza, Kelvin Gastelum, Edmen Shahbazyan and Chris Curtis, inbetween losses to Jared Cannonier, Marvin Vettori, Sean Strickland and most recently Roman Dolidze.

Pyfer vs. Hermansson will front a UFC Fight Night 236 card that also had a fight between Gregory Rodrigues and Brad Tavares booked recently.
