John Lineker Set To Fight Rob Font At UFC Fight Night 154

Earlier this week John Lineker demanded to be given a fight and he’s got one as he’s just been signed up to fight Rob Font in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 154 in South Carolina on June 22nd.

Lineker had become frustrated with his lack of fight bookings, having only stepped into the Octagon once in the past year, suffering a split decision loss to Cory Sanhagen back in April, and so with Font’s original opponent Cody Stamman having been forced out due to injury, this was an easy replacement for the UFC to book.

His only other two fights in the past three years has seen him earn a decision victory over current No.1 contender Marlon Moraes in 2017 and a knockout victory against Brian Kelleher last year.

In total Lineker has won eight of his last 10 fights and is currently ranked No.10 in the division.

As for Font, he is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Sergio Pettis late last year.

That continued a theme of alternating between wins and losses of late, having also won against Thomas Almeida and Douglas Silva de Andrade in the past couple of years, sandwiched inbetween defeats against Pedro Munhoz and Raphael Assuncao, leaving him ranked No.12 at 135lbs.

Lineker Vs Font joins a UFC Fight Night 154 card that’s set to be headlined by Renato Moicano Vs ‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung.
