Jon Jones And Dan Hooker Engage In War Of Words

Jon Jones has fired back at Dan Hooker after the UFC lightweight fighter called him out over likening his domestic violence incident against his wife at a Las Vegas hotel earlier this year to Chael Sonnen’s recent altercation with guests at another hotel in the city.

“Imagine beating up 5 people and not one of them is your wife. (JJones RN 🤯),” Hooker had wrote in response to Brendan Shaub’s claims that Sonnen had actually been defending his wife in his incident, which had led to him receiving five citations for battery.

Apparently that remark caught the attention of Jones, who retaliated by mocking Hooker’s current run in the UFC, which has seen the No.8 ranked lightweight lose three of his last four fights.

“@danthehangman Bro, your career is simply not panning out, that’s my response. lol.

“@danthehangman every opportunity you’ve had to make a name for yourself and be closer to your boy Izzy, you dropped the ball. You can’t achieve greatness, so you hop online and attack someone who has. Sounds about right.”

Hooker didn’t back down though and instead took another pop at Jones over his domestic violence arrest.

“Life hack: if you don’t beat up your wife, family events will be more enjoyable. Merry Xmas bitch.,” Hooker wrote to Jones.

Jones recently revealed that he’s hoping to fight in either April or July of next year and appears to be still holding out for a heavyweight title shot against the winner of Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane next month, while Hooker has recently been contemplating whether to drop down to the UFC’s featherweight division in 2022.
