Jon Jones has kicked off 2021 by taking verbal jabs at his two biggest rivals Israel Adesanya and Daniel Cormier on social media.
“When I move, you move, just like that,” Jones wrote in response to Israel Adesanya’s step up to 205lb to fight Jan Blachowicz, who won the title last year after ‘Bones’ vacated it to move up to heavyweight.
“Name another fighter who’s made more men retire, switch weight classes, or switch organizations all together. I’ll wait.”
“I left the LHW division because I was terrified of Dominic, even though Jan was guaranteed the next title shot,” Jones continued sarcastically.
“And then once the MW champ suddenly moved up, I knew I had made the right choice. Glad I decided to go the easy route.
“I didn’t leave the light heavyweight division to challenge myself, I ran out of fear.”
“Yep, just couldn’t see myself beating Jan, his style is like nothing I’ve seen before 🥴 and the thought of fighting a middleweight striker in 2021 was the final straw, figured Francis take down defense was worse, had to run.”
Meanwhile, Jones also couldn’t resist taking a potshot at the recently retired Cormier.
“On this day in history I created a hater forever,” Jones wrote to mark the sixth anniversary of his first victory over DC.
So far Adesanya and Cormier haven’t responded to Jones’ latest trash-talk.
